- Anodised aluminium lid - Brushed black metal - LED-backlit controls - Bulky but solid chassis - Size 381 x 265 x ~35 mm – Weight 2.8kg |
The design is very attractive with impressive anodised aluminium lid, brushed black metal surrounding the keyboard and white led-backlit control buttons. We would have wished it to be a bit slimmer as it feels a bit bulky compared to some of its comepetitors and even the previous XSP line notebooks. But at least it is well-built and feels very solid as well.

Dell XPS 15 offers pretty much any kind of port you will ever need during your daily tasks with 2 x USB 3.0 port, 1 x USB 2.0/eSATA port, memory card reader, 2 x headphone-out, 1 x microphone-in, HDMI, mini-DisplayPort and LAN.

- Poor quality keyboard – Large multi-touch touchpad |
If any part of the Dell XPS 15 is worth critising is definitely the keyboard. Even though the keys are well-spaced and the layout is great it just feels on the cheap side. That’s due to well noticable flex and a spongy feel while typing.
Luckily the touchpad does offer better experience as it is large and sensitive, it offers multi-touch gesture support and its surface is smooth and nice to use and so are the touchpad buttons which offer just right amount of feedback when pressed.
