HTC joined the Android tablet party with the announcement of HTC Flyer – a 7 inch tablet running Google Android 2.4. As HTC’s smartphone the HTC Flyer features the HTC Sense UI which offers more sleek experience of the stock Android OS. HTC did make some adjustments to the UI and widgets to take advantage of the bigger screen but nothing mind-blowing. All the bit-crunching in the HTC Flyer is done by a 1.5 GHz single core processor and 1 GB RAM. Other features include 32 GB internal storage, Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi b/g/n and both front and rear facing cameras.
Overall it felt like a solid entry into the tablet market for HTC but nothing that Apple iPad, HP TouchPad and BlackBerry Playbook should worry about. Still for those who are used to and fond of HTC’s sense UI on their smartphones will probably very happy with using the already familiar interface. Check the videos, photos and full specifications after the break.
