With iPad 2 taking all the hype this month other manufacturers aren’t holding back either. Samsung announced the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. As the name implies the new model features a larger 10.1 inch (1280 x 800 px) screen where its predecessor the Galaxy Tab featured a 7 inch screen. Larger screen aside the real news here is that the Galaxy Tab 10.1 will be running Google Android 3.0 “Honeycomb”.
Other major upgrades are the use of 1 GHz dual core processor, 8 megapixel camera and full HD 1080p video recording. Suddenly the iPad 2 doesn’t seem that “magical” any more, does it? I guess the fight with iPad 2 will come down to pricing when it is released sometime this summer. If it will be priced as it predecessor at over £500 iPad 2 has nothing to worry about in our opinion unless you are after full Flash support, that is. But if it will be priced at about £400 then this just might be enough for some users to turn away from the Apple’s champion. Check videos below and photos and specifications on the next page.
