Indoor with flash

In my second indoor test I turned the flash on to test how this will effect the colour balance, noise, while also paying attention to the flash glare.

Outcome

Colour balance: Unfortunately, with flash on Robin didn’t improve colour balance much from the previous test without flash, only swapping out the purple colour boost with red. Galaxy S5 and PowerShot SX220 HS did best in this scenario, with Lumia 930 and iPhone 6 adding a bit of yellow tint to the colour balance.

Exposure: Poor Robin, not only it got the colour balance completely wrong it also produced a washed-out under-exposed image. Other four produced comparable results with only some differences in flash strength and glare.

Detail: Interestingly enough, when used with flash Galaxy S5 almost completely toned down the noise reduction matching iPhone 6 in the level of detail but neither could really touch the detail preserved by Lumia 930. PowerShot SX220 HS also produced a good image with only Robin falling out completely with a very aggressive noise reduction blurring out a lot of the detail – but hey at least noise was almost completely eradicated ;)
