Toshiba Thrive 10.1 inch Tablet Hands-on Video

Perhaps you remember Toshiba's first entry into the tablet market with Toshiba Folio 100. If you don't we can't blame you as it was a complete dud with underwhelming screen, slow performance and its battery ran out of juice sooner that one would desire. This time Toshiba is back with Thrive - a 10.1 (1280 x 800 px) inch tablet running Google Android 3.1 Honeycomb operating system while a dual core nVidia Tegra 2 processor will be in charge of making sure everything runs smoothly. It is set to be available in the US in July with prices starting at $429 for 8 GB, $479 for 16 GB and $579 for 32 GB version - all being WiFi only. There was no mention of a 3G version of tablet but be sure if WiFi tablets will prove success Toshiba will be quick to stick a 3G module into them. Check the hands-on video by Engadget and official press shots after the break.

When Apple released the first generation iPad Samsung was the closest of all the rivals with Samsung Galaxy Tab and that Apple has iPad 2 on the market Samsung is again after it with Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and by the looks of things it came even closer to nabbing the top spot this time around. Specifications at glance are 10.1 inch screen (1280 x 800 px), with weighing in at 1.33 lbs is even lighter then the iPad 2 and also a tiny bit thinner at 0.33 inch. (more...)

HTC Flyer Video Review

HTC Flyer Video Review
Saturday, 21 May 2011 by Vito Zgonik

Finally HTC Flyer got into hands of guys over at Engadget. From what we've seen it looks like a good tablet and eventhough it is running Google Android 2.3 Gingerbread HTC has done a good job of customizing the interface to make it tablet friendly. The App junkies will not find it interesting though due to Android 2.3 apps are not really large screen friendly and to make it worse it is expected to cost slightly more then the Apple iPad 2. Probably the digital pen is to blame. Now don't get us wrong HTC did do a great job with it but we don't think anyone will really make a daily use out of it. Still a solid entry into tablet market for HTC and let's hope they will bless us with a Honeycomb tablet sometime soon. Meanwhile check the video review by Engadget after the break. (more...)

Thursday, 31 March 2011 by Vito Zgonik

A useable Windows 7 is one of our unfulfilled dreams and by the looks of it the French might have made it come true with the launch of Evigroup SmartPaddle tablet. To compensate for Windows 7 lack of finger friendliness the Evigroup created its own user interface that runs on top of Windows 7. They called it 'Scale' and it is more than just a finger friendly 3D interface. It has some built-in applications such as web browser, media player capable of playing 1080p full HD video,  photo manager, word processor, contact manager and file manager.

LG E2360V LCD LED-backlit 23 inch Monitor Review
Sunday, 27 March 2011 by Vito Zgonik

First LED-backlighting took over the notebook market and recently it started taking over both LCD TV and LCD computer monitor markets. This resulted in thinner, sleeker and more elegant designs. To fight with other manufacturers for the top spot in this 'premium' market LG released new E60 series LCD LED-backlit monitors with smallest E1960 (18.5 inch, 1366 x 768 px), E2060 (20 inch, 1600 x 900 px), E2260 (21.5 inch, 1920 x 1080 px) and our review unit which is largest of the bunch the E2360 (23 inch, 1920 x 1080 px).

With iPad 2 taking all the hype this month other manufacturers aren't holding back either. Samsung announced the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. Apple iPad 2 Tablet Unveiled

Apple iPad 2 Tablet Unveiled
Thursday, 03 March 2011 by Vito Zgonik

The first iPad rejuvenated the tablet market so we can now choose from dozens of different tablets which vary in sizes, features and operating systems but none came close to the success of the iPad. There were a lot of rumours about the Apple iPad 2 and now Apple finally unveiled it yesterday. At first glance of the iPad 2 it becomes clear that this is an evolution not a revolution like its predecessor and that's not a bad thing as the iPad was a great device but the competition caught up and even surpassed in certain areas. Now Apple struck back with a 1 GHz dual core A5 processor that is up to 2x times faster and up 9x times faster graphics compared to its older brother.

HP TouchPad 9.7 inch webOS Tablet Announced

HP TouchPad 9.7 inch webOS Tablet Announced
Thursday, 10 February 2011 by Vito Zgonik

It's been leaked and hinted couple of times and now here is the official announcement of the first webOS tablet - the HP TouchPad. We have been most excited to see this baby as we absolutely love the webOS since its initial launch as it was sleek, fast and offered true multitasking. HP opted for a standard 4:3 screen the same as it is found in the Apple iPad which was a bit unexpected as most other manufacturers opted out for a widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio screens as they are more suited for enjoying multimedia so HP has really gone directly after the iPad with its 9.7 inch (1024 x 768 px) tablet. It will feature a flush multitouch screen, virtual keayboard, instant-on access and web broser will offer full support for Adobe Flash Player 10.1. All of that will be powered by a 1.2 GHz dual core processor which should  make it extremely fast and responsive
