Netbook Finder Update – July 2011

Not much has happened again in the netbook world. Still no sign of any Intel Oak trail based models and with rumours that even Intel isn’t exactly very happy with its latest Intel Atom platform we might never see any. Luckily manufacturers are still trying to reinvigorate the market with some doing a minor design refresh or using AMD Fusion platform instead. Samsung Series 5 ChromeBook Unveiled

Samsung Series 5 ChromeBook Unveiled

It seems Google wasn’t sure whether to call it a netbook or a notebook so they came up with a ChromeBook but in our terms it is a netbook as it packs a dual core Intel Atom processor but due to its 12.1 inch screen this is up for a discussion. What Samsung delivered is a first ChromeBook available for purchase as the first Google CR-48 was for developers only. All in all it looks like a fine piece of a netbook/notebook/ChromeBook with a solid and sleek chassis design.
