There has been quite a lot of new tablets relased over the past couple of months with the new iPad leading the way. We have also seen a flood of new budget Android tablets running Ice Cream Sandwich. Who knew you could now get an Android 4.0 tablet for less than a £100. Also worth mentioning is the Toshiba Thrive AT300 tablet that packs a quad-core nVidia Tegra 3 processor costing less than £400. In total we added 36 tablets bringing the total number of tablets in our Tablet Finder to 201.  See the tull list of tablets added after the break.

The new iPad is called… the new iPad!

Apple finally unveiled the new iPad this week so we can put all the rumours to rest. To everyone’s suprise it is not called iPad 3 or iPad HD but ‘new iPad’. Just why Apple decided for this is beyond our understanding. So when the next iPad comes out how will then we refer to the current one? Not much has happened in the tablet world since the beginning of the year. We are still waiting for the first Ice Cream Sandwich packing tablet and the iPad 3 rumours keep spreading throughout the web. Toshiba did however push out slimmed down Thrive AT200 tablet hoping that we would quickly forget the failed AT100 while Acer released a 7 inch version of its Iconia Tab range the A100. In total we added 5 tablets bringing the total number of tablets in our Tablet Finder to 165.  See the tull list of tablets added after the break.

Top 10 – Most Popular Tablets January 2012

The circle of the first chart editions in 2012 is complete. We present you the top ten most popular tablets in January 2012. This month was the first one in our chart history that wasn’t dominated by budget tablets with only 2 budget tablets breaking the top 10. Furthermore 2 Windows 7 tablets made appearance for the first time as well. Looks like getting ever closer to the tablet-friendly Windows 8 is positively influencing the public’s interest in Windows based tablets. Check the full chart after the break.

Top 10 – Most Popular Tablets December 2011

Unlike notebook and netbook charts the tablet chart remains pretty much unchanged with only slight movement between places. There was only one new entry with ViewSonic ViewPad 10s and the Cambridge Sciences V10 tablet staying on the top. Also cracking our chart are Tabtech and Samsung with 2 entries, while Hannspree, A1CS, Acer and Asus grabbed one spot each. Check the full chart after the break.

Tablet Finder Update – December 2011

It looks like Asus, Samsung, HP and Dell just can’t wait for finger friendly Windows 8 to come out as they have all released Windows 7 tablets recently. While Dell’s and HP’s efforts are pretty average the Samsung 700T is actually the first Windows 7 tablet we have seen that might actually do a decent job. Still we think it would be better to hold off your Windows tablet purchase just  a wee-bit longer as Windows 8 is just around the corner. We added 40 tablets this month bringing the total number of tablets in our Tablet Finder to 160.  See the tull list of tablets added after the break.
