Still flying high on the success of Windows 7 Microsoft showed off new interface it's been secretly working on. It looks like this new interface was heavily influenced by Windows Phone 7 OS found on smartphones. This will make it very friendly to use on tablets and it seems that finally we will be able to see a decent Windows tablet. It will also come bundled with Internet Explorer which again has been designed with tablets in mind.

We love stats especially when they OS related as they show us what people are using out there. It's hard to believe that Windows XP after 9 years of release is still seating on top of the charts but that is all looking to change in the US with Windows 7 steadily climbing each month while Windows XP and Windows Vista (that FYI has never overtaken XP) are steadily loosing their share. StatCounter projected that by the end of  April Windows 7 will become most used operating system in the US. Check the stats charts after the break. (more...)

To celebrate (if it's worth celebrating) the release of Internet Explorer 9 a fan that goes by the alias of TheRasteri created a  video showing all versions of Internet Explorer starting with version 1 through 9. He test all the version on how they display various websites and puts them through Acid tests. It looks like Microsoft after 15 years of developing Internet Explorer finally delivered a worthy browser. We definetily recommend trying out the latest Internet Explorer 9 that you can download free from Microsoft website. Also please do check the funky video after the break.

It's been a big week for Google as it showcased many of the upcoming products. Starting with Google Nexus S smartphone running Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), Google eBooks online eBookstore, a mystery Motorola tablet running the next version of Android 'Honeycomb' and finally Google Cr-48 notebook running Chrome OS. Moving away from the flood of mobile phone news we come to internet browser wars. Did you know that 40% of you (our valued visitors) use Firefox, 28% use Internet Explorer, 21% use Google Chrome, 6% use Safari and 3% use Opera. It looks like Microsoft is set to change those stats as according to guys over at Engadget the latest version of Internet Explorer 9 Public Beta performs well.

As web designers and developers we just love Dreamweaver so we were disappointed to see that the new Dreamweaver CS5 didn't bring any new exciting features so not worth of upgrading according to the guys over at NotebookReview.

It's no secret that Firefox's market share is pretty much stagnant at the moment with more and more users rather using one of the faster alternatives such as Google Chrome so Mozilla really needs to get its act together and by the looks of Firefox 4 Beta 1 it might just hit the nail on the head. The new version brings an updated user interface that feels sleeker and easier to use, HTML5 and CSS3 support. While the beta version feels fast they promise the final release to be much much faster.
