In total we added 332 notebooks which brings the total number of notebook models in our Notebook Finder database to 4328. Full list of notebooks models added after the break.

Did you love the value of that Acer Aspire notebook? But was turned away by the dull gray/black design? We would like you to meet the Packard Bell TK notebook series. With Packard Bell being a sub-brand of Acer its notebook share the same design, build quality, hardware and price but add a splash of color to the Acer's black and gray chassis. Today we will have a look at the Packard Bell EasyNote TK87 (GU-021UK) which features a red color scheme and an Intel processor. There is also the TK85 which is black, while TK81 (black) and TK83 (red) come with AMD processor options. Starting with the design the Packard Bell EasyNote TK87 is an decent looking notebook. It by no means will compete with the likes of MacBook Pro or HP Envy lines but at less then £400 it doesn't have to. The back cover is made of matte plastics and Packard Bell added a textured finish to make it look a bit more unique. This also helps with keeping the fingerprints pretty much invisible.

The plam rest continues the same design as the back cover made of hard plastics makes this notebook feel more solid then you would expect at this price point. But Packard Bell couldn't stay away from the glossy plastics completely with the screen bezel made of glossy plastics to match the glossy surface of the screen.

The dimensions of the chassis (381 mm x 253 mm) and weight of 2.7kg is slighlty higher then the recently reviewed HP Compaq Presario CQ57-300 (CQ57-371EA) but it's a few milimitres thinner at 34mm and it feels more solid as well.

HP Compaq branded notebooks are known to be cheap but usually do compromise on the performance and battery life. The HP Compaq Presario CQ57-371EA packs a dual core AMD processor E-450 which is an AMD Fusion based platform that promises an integrated graphics that can handle full HD playback and a good battery life all for under £300.

In terms of design this is an overall good looking notebook compared to other budget notebooks but don't expect it to turn many heads though. The chassis is made of plastics and does show some flex especially on/around the keyboard so it won't win any awards for being a solid machine. On the upside though HP decided to stay clear of the glossy plastics that can be found on most budget notebooks these days which means if you decide to buy one it will not serve as a forensic evidence being covered in fingerprints in grease.

The size of chassis (376 mm x 247 mm) is pretty average while the thickness of 37 mm makes this notebook quite bulky. However the reasonable weight of 2.6 kg means it won't be too heavy to lug around for short trips.

With all ultrabooks stealing all the hype in the portable notebook market it is easy to forget that not everyone want to spend £1000 on a 13 inch notebook. For some a notebook that is 5oo g heavier, 10 mm thicker but costing almost half less is a more compelling offer and this is where HP ProBook 4330s comes in.

Our review model -  HP ProBook 4330s (LW836EA) came equipped with a 2.20 GHz Intel Core i3 processor, 4 GB DDR3 RAM, 320 GB hard drive and Intel HD 3000 integrated graphics and is currently retailing for about £550.

HP ProBook 4330s is designed for business users but due to an attractive design it should please home users as well. A combination of brushed aluminium back cover and palm rest makes this is both a good looking and solid notebook while the decision to drop the glossy plastics found in its predecessor provides a nearly smudge free surface. While it can't compete with MacBooks aluminium unibody design you will definitely not be ashamed of pulling it out of your bag in public.

The lid is a magnetic lock rather than a mechanical one while this seems a nice touch to help keep its design clean and simple it makes it harder to open it up with one hand which might annoy some users but we didn't find this as a drawback. Speaking of the lid the opening angle is limited to only 130 degrees which might prove not to be enough in certain occasions but in most daily usage scenarios it should be fine.

The chassis is on the bulky side for a 13.3 inch notebook but that isn't all bad since it can house a full range of connectivity ports, powerful processor and dedicated graphics in selected models.
