HTC One X and One S new software updates available

We were positively surprised when a second software update within the past month popped-up on our HTC One X. It’s not that there is something horribly wrong with it but a new update can’t hurt. Being optimistic we then checked if there was an update for our HTC One S available as well and it was indeed. Read on past the break for more info and screenshots.

The new 1.29.401.7 update for HTC One X is 35.09 MB big but HTC hasn’t released any info yet regarding which issues have been addressed with this latest update. The same goes for the 1.78.771.5 software update for HTC One S which was slightly larger at 57.49 MB with HTC not releasing any details about this update as well.

If the notification asking you to update doesn’t show you can check and update manually going into Settings > About > Software updates and tap ‘Check now’ at the bottom and hopefully the update will come up. Due to the large size of the update it is recommended to download it via WiFi. Click the below screenshots below for step-by-step instructions.

After updating both smartphones worked great but we haven’t really experienced any problems before updating either. We will update this post if we find out any further info.

Along the EliteBook Folio 9470m HP also announced a new addition to the Envy Spectre ultrabooks series with the 13.3 inch XT ultrabook. The HP Envy Spectre XT will not share the glass chassis design with it’s bigger brother but rather follow the other ultrabooks with an aluminium body. Unlike the EliteBook Folio 9470m we do have pricing and availability details for the UK. It should hit the stores end of June starting at £899. HP EliteBook Folio 9470m announced

Not so long ago HP unveiled its first ultrabook the HP Folio 13 which was more targeted at the consumer market. Coinciding with the Intel Ivy Bridge platform HP release an ultrabook aimed specifically at the business segment with HP EliteBook Folio 9470m. It’s slighltly larger the Folio 13 as it’s packing a 14 inch screen which made space for an exra set of keys on the right side where HP decided to stick in the ‘home’, ‘page up’, ‘page down’ and ‘end’ keys while also expanding the ‘left arrow’ and ‘right arrow’ keys. Weighing in at 1.6 kg and being 19 mm thick it isn’t the lightest and thinnest of the ultrabooks but it did HP to include a full range of ports that are essential to business users such as full size VGA, DisplayPort and Ethernet ports. Add 3 x USB 3.0 ports, smart card, SD card and a finger print reader and you end up with a selection of ports that will put other ultrabooks to shame. No word on battery life and UK availablity/pricing yet. It will be available in the US from October starting at $1,149. Until then check the photos below.

Welcome to the April 2012 edition of our Top 10 Most Popular Tablets chart. Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 P7500 (WiFi 64 GB White) stayed on top for third month in a row while to our surprise Dell Streak 7 stayed in the top ten climbing one spot to #6.
