15.6 inch Mainstream Notebook
With a collect and return warranty, the C660 isn't terrible value when viewed alone. Its battery also lasted well over five hours in our light-use test, beating virtually every other 15.6in laptop at this price. However, it also has a smaller hard disk and fewer USB ports than many rivals plus it lacks an HDMI port. Even if battery life is important to you, there are better buys than the C660.

The Toshiba Satellite C660-10E is aimed at laptop novices who want to first discover the market and thus would like to buy an affordable all round notebook to start with.

It's hard to like the Satellite Pro C660-171 when it offers so little for its asking price. Splashing out a little more on the Acer Aspire 5741G or Dell Inspiron 15R will pay greater dividends.
